More To Life

There is much more to life beyond what we can perceive. When we begin to grasp on some level how the essence of life is eternal, then we see that this physical reality is simply one way that God expresses life. We become less attached to the material things and more focused on what is true and unending. – Felicia Blanco, Do Greater Things

Renew the mind

The Word of God illuminated by the Holy Spirit is the only true means or transforming the human heart. Salvation by faith is a specific occasion, while the renewing of the mind by the Word is a continuing process.

The disciple devotes himself to God’s Word to be transformed into a holy person, radiantly Christ-like and radically different from the world. Spiritual disciples  devour God’s Word because in it is the key to a more dynamic relationship with their living Lord and a greater availability to the Holy Spirit.

Be constant in your reading and study of God’s Word. Recognize that your faith will grow only as much as you feed on God’s Word.

Let God’s Word and His Holy Spirit radically transform your way of thinking. Renew you mind to know and do the will of God, giving your body a living sacrifice.  -  From “Truth-In-Action”

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” – Romans 10:17

Possessions

True life has nothing to do with possessions. Possessions neither give life nor provide security, because death separates from things. The unwise person mistakenly looks upon his/her possessions as his/her own, not as gifts dependent upon the will of God and to be used unselfishly. -Spirit Filled Life Study Bible

“Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” – Luke 12:15

Strength

God is my strength.

Everyday is a gift from God, a gift filled with promise. Each day, I find new opportunities to express my God-given talents and abilities, and to bless others and myself.

The presence of God gives me strength of spirit that keeps me moving forward. With Spirit guiding me, I remain strong in mind, in body and in spirit. I sing a song of praise, for God’s spirit is present within me and throughout all creation. – Unity Advent 2011

“The Lord is my strength and my might, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise Him.” – Exodus 15:2

My Word

My Word

The words I speak are full of love.

The words I speak have power, and I have the power to choose them wisely. Choosing words hastily or in anger may cause another to feel demoralized or discouraged. By contrast, loving words can heal and uplift.

I think of how words affect me. In prayer, I ask the Christ within to guide my words to be encouraging and uplifting for others as well as myself. I set an intention to speak in positive ways throughout the day. My words and tone of voice make a difference.

I acknowledge the Christ Spirit in each person and myself, and I naturally choose words of grace, love, peace and appreciation.

Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear.–Ephesians 4:29
