More To Life

There is much more to life beyond what we can perceive. When we begin to grasp on some level how the essence of life is eternal, then we see that this physical reality is simply one way that God expresses life. We become less attached to the material things and more focused on what is true and unending. – Felicia Blanco, Do Greater Things

Renew the mind

The Word of God illuminated by the Holy Spirit is the only true means or transforming the human heart. Salvation by faith is a specific occasion, while the renewing of the mind by the Word is a continuing process.

The disciple devotes himself to God’s Word to be transformed into a holy person, radiantly Christ-like and radically different from the world. Spiritual disciples  devour God’s Word because in it is the key to a more dynamic relationship with their living Lord and a greater availability to the Holy Spirit.

Be constant in your reading and study of God’s Word. Recognize that your faith will grow only as much as you feed on God’s Word.

Let God’s Word and His Holy Spirit radically transform your way of thinking. Renew you mind to know and do the will of God, giving your body a living sacrifice.  -  From “Truth-In-Action”

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” – Romans 10:17

Possessions

True life has nothing to do with possessions. Possessions neither give life nor provide security, because death separates from things. The unwise person mistakenly looks upon his/her possessions as his/her own, not as gifts dependent upon the will of God and to be used unselfishly. -Spirit Filled Life Study Bible

“Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” – Luke 12:15

Christ Mandates Social Corcern

Christ mandates social consciousness and concern:

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.  All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.  And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.  Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;  I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’  Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?  Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’  And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’  Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’  Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’  Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matthew 25:31-46)

Here are the principles by which men will be judged; their treatment or those who are hungry, homeless, poor, diseased, and imprisoned.  Social concern cannot biblically be divorced from the Christian walk.  “He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given” (Proverbs 19:17).  Jesus equates our treatment of those who are destitute or distressed with our treatment of Himself.  What we do for them, we do for Him.  We must not allow the Christian walk to be only a spiritual enterprise, unrelated to the service of humanity.  When we fail to care for social need, we fail to place proper value on others, decreasing our own merit in the eyes of the Lord and inviting His condemnation.

“What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?  If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,  and one of you says to them, ‘Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,’ but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?  Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead” (James 2:14-17).

The Basic Law Of Prosperity

The basic law of prosperity is very simple — Give And Receive. Whenever I talk about giving, those who have little or no understanding of this basic law become uncomfortable. My brothers and sisters in Christ, if you have any plans to receive success, you will have to give. There is no way around this very basic law. Whatever, you sow (give), that you will reap (receive).

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, THAT he will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)

What ever you sow is what you will reap.  If you want more money, you’ll have to give money or something that is equivalent to money, such as YOUR TIME and YOUR TALENT. IN ORDER TO RECEIVE, YOU MUST GIVE.

I had a debt that I prayed to God to release me from. The debt was a little more than $150,000 dollars. The Spirit of the Lord told me to give a $1000 dollars into His ministry. I obeyed the word from the Lord and sowed the $1000 dollars, believing that God would release me from the debt. Six weeks later I received a letter from the creditor informing me that my debt was settled in full and that the account was closed. Needless to say, I had a praising and shouting good time. You see, “God is not a man, that He should lie.” (Numbers 23:19) God said if we give we WILL receive. He didn’t say when we give we might receive or we should receive. He said we WILL receive, and I BELIEVE GOD.

The following is  from “The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity” by Catherine Ponder.

THE LAW OF LAWS

Truly the laws that govern prosperity are just as sure and workable as the laws that govern mathematics, music, physics, and the other sciences. The Bible describes that basic law of prosperity when it speaks of sowing and reaping, or giving and receiving. The scientists describe it as action and reaction. By some it has been termed the law of supply and demand, Emerson described it as the law of compensation, whereby like attracts like. He declared that the law of compensation is the “law of laws!”

YOU CANNOT GET SOMETHING FOR NOTHING

I agree with Emerson that it is time the law of compensation was emphasized as life’s basic law. I like to think of this basic law of prosperity as radiation and attraction; that what you radiate outward in your thoughts, feelings, mental pictures and words, you attract into your life and affairs. But you cannot get something for nothing.

The reason why there is still poverty in this universe of lavish abundance is that many people still do not understand this basic law of life; they do not yet realize that they must radiate in order to attract, and that what they do radiate they constantly attract.    Most people today still have to learn that they cannot get something for nothing, but must give before receiving or must sow before reaping.  When they do not give or sow in terms of prosperity, they make no contact with God’s lavish abundance, and so there is no channel formed through which the rich, unlimited substance of the universe can pour forth its riches to them.

The truth of this was recently brought to my attention when I had contact with some people in a poverty-stricken area.  I soon discovered that these people only wanted a “hand-out.”  They were not interested in invoking the basic law of prosperity by giving or sowing first.  Instead, they were trying to get something for nothing, which simply cannot be done.  Thus, they continued to live in poverty.

If you haven’t read any of Catherine Ponder’s books, I encourage you to start with The Dynamic Laws Of Prosperity.

Have a blessed day.
